My Story

My journey towards Psychology began with my own experiences during childhood.

I suffered from a congenital heart condition, and my family was understandably anxious about my health. As a result, many aspects of my freedom were restricted. Living with physical illness, a sense of suffocation and anxiety about my health affected the way I thought, felt and behaved.

During adolescence, I became impulsive and rebellious. I also experienced anxiety, headaches and digestive difficulties.

In my search for a way to understand and overcome what I was experiencing, I met different people and tried different approaches. Over time, I began to understand that Psychology could help me make sense of the emotional and behavioural aspects of my experiences.

That journey of understanding and change eventually led me towards Psychology and transformed the direction of my life.

Today, I bring that journey into my work as a Psychologist—not as a formula for someone else’s experience, but as an appreciation of how complex a person’s inner world can be.

My Approach

Niharika draws from different psychological approaches depending on what a person brings into counselling.

Her approaches include:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Exploring connections between thoughts, emotions and patterns of behaviour.

Expressive Art Therapy
Using creative expression as another way to explore experiences and emotions.

Narrative Therapy
Exploring the stories and meanings through which people understand themselves and their experiences.

Humanistic Therapy
Giving importance to the person’s experience, perspective and capacity for growth.

Existential Therapy
Exploring questions around meaning, choice, identity and how we relate to life.

The approach is not intended to be a fixed formula. The conversation and the person’s needs guide what is explored.

What a Conversation May Look Like

You do not need to arrive with a perfect explanation of what you are experiencing.

A conversation can begin with what has been difficult, confusing or changing in your life. From there, you can gradually explore what you are experiencing, how you understand it and what you would like to change or understand better.

You may already know what is troubling you. Or you may simply know that something does not feel right.

You can begin with that.

Is Niharika the Right Fit for You?

You may find Niharika’s work relevant if you are looking for support around:

  • difficult or abusive experiences
  • repetitive or overwhelming thinking
  • emotional changes during pregnancy or after childbirth
  • experiences that are difficult to express through words alone
  • understanding yourself and your patterns more deeply

If you are unsure whether her approach is appropriate for your situation, you do not need to figure that out alone. You can tell Chromfinite what brings you here and ask about the available options.
